Sculptra is a popular deep tissue regeneration treatment that stimulates your natural collagen production – which usually slows with age. By triggering the production of enhanced collagen levels, skin becomes firmer, smoother, and more youthful in appearance.
Sculptra is an injectable treatment administered deep into the lower layers of the skin, where it triggers the production of new collagen. It is injected using a blunt needle called a cannula to avoid bruising or damaging blood vessels. Still, clients are provided with an anesthetic beforehand to ensure they are as comfortable as possible during their treatment session.
Most clients will need 2 or 3 treatment sessions to achieve the optimal cosmetic result from their treatment. This will also help ensure that the effects last much longer than those achieved with standard dermal fillers. However, each patient is unique, and in rare cases, additional sessions will be required to reach peak enhancement.
Although you may notice some immediate improvement in your skin due to water retention and swelling since the process of collagen creation is biological. However, it will require a couple of weeks before your increased collagen production levels make a visible difference to your skin. Most clients find the effects noticeable around 4 to 6 weeks following their first treatment.
Facial massage is an essential practice of Sculptra treatment, and our doctors will make you aware of this during your consultation. This is because gentle massage will further stimulate collagen production and enhance the age-defying effects of your treatment even further. You will also be advised to massage your face gently for at least 5 minutes, twice per day for the first ten days after your procedure, and then daily for a further month.
Suppose there are other aspects of your appearance that you would also like to have addressed. In that case, we strongly advise that you discuss these with our doctors during your consultation appointment. They will be able to advise you which treatments will be best to rectify your concerns and let you know if they can be performed alongside Sculptra.
